Squeaking in (on the East Coast) to wish Allyson a happy birthday! I hope you spent this evening doing exactly what you wanted.

Being my age and Jamaican is precisely the right demographic for child-of-Marley (and I mean that in the philosophical sense--I'm too old for genetic) status. But he wasn't the only Jamaican protest singer, and it wasn't only Jamaicans.
The most embarassing thing I achieved with protest music was an afternoon of raucous hot and heaviness just before Nelson Mandela was released from prison, with the TV on Much Music and the remote control too far away to be bothered with. It was years before "Free Nelson Mandela" didn't make me cross my legs and blush nostalgically.
Christ, some fast food chain just had an ad for cheesy tots involving "morning tongue" which...ewww. Too much sharing.
Happy B-day Allyson.
Yeah the morning tongue thing is just more than I wanted thanks. I actually keep breath stuff on the bedside table.
Cheesy tots are the bomb. Tasteless advertising notwithstanding.

I just saw that! Clever, but still. Like most of that ad agency's work.

The smell of Chaps gave me a similar reaction for years. When really? All the smell of Chaps should do is make a person gag a little.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLYSON!!!!
Cheesy tots sound freaking amazing.
Okay, I need to give into my meds. Upped them again and I am reeling. Let's try this again, horizontally.
I've got Dylan's Forever Young sung by Baez in my head. I know why. It is a wish unrealized for scrappy's niece
Aw, gee. That's so lovely.
I swear iTunes is sentient. It just pulled up Dante's Prayer by Loreena McKennitt, and my first thoughts were for Scrappy's niece and my coworker who just passed away. It's a tough song for me to listen to under normal circumstances, but tonight it's made me more melancholy than usual.

Has sara gone to bed yet? Sleep, and I hope work isn't such PITA for you tomorrow.
Happy Birthday, Allyson! I'm glad I get to see you Sat if not tomorrow at TK.
