Buffy. When I saw you stop the world from, you know, ending, I just assumed that was a big week for you. Turns out I suddenly find myself needing to know the plural of 'apocalypse.'

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Also, I think Episopal is too Catholic for me, liturgically. I said I have a lot of issues! Which is why it was such a bummer when no one at Riverside would ever call me back.

Yeah, for me it was a good transition back to protestantism after going to mass every week at college. I really liked the Plymouth Church of the Pilgrims in Brooklyn Heights, both for the service and its history (Henry Ward Beecher was their first minister, stop on the Underground Railroad, etc.), but its location wouldn't really work for you.

Because books.

Grace is such a pretty church, too! I lived right by it when I was in the NYU dorm. Really historic, as well.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The Church of Satan was incredibly open and welcoming for me.

OK, I've never actually been to the Church of Satan. But the cool thing about the Church of Satan is it's OK to lie....

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I basically grew up here, and still have lots of ties.

Oh hey, my best friend growing up went to Grace Church School. That's all I know about it though.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Kat, no neat Buddhist temples up your way?

That's too bad. I love the Episcopal church. The main thing that stops me from going is that it would mean getting out of the house before 2 PM on a Sunday, which looks like it may never happen again unless I'm staying with someone else. Man, I am lazy!

Oh, and the god issue.

So, I've just finished grading half the projects. Kill me now. Only one person got more than a C so far.

I will keep them in mind, brenda, thanks. I think my next two attempts will be this apparently liberal Lutheran church in my neighborhood, and Judson, which is so much like the church I grew up in it is laughable, although last time I checked, they also had the stuff that made me insane about the church I grew up in. But they have a new minister since I was there last, so who knows.

Another freaky uncanny valley four legged robot video: [link]

Seriously, this robot is awesome, but very freaky to watch.

Site seems a bit slow at the moment....

eta: If you can wait for it - the scene where it walks on ice and repeatedly almost falls and then recovers is absolutely amazing. It slipped so bad it fell on its knees twice, but still got back up.

eta²: OMG, the fucking thing can gallop. OK, I guess it's more of a prance....

Can I tell you how much I'm not fond of this grading system where 93 is a B and 86 is a C?
