But it a lot of people don't understand the distinction between self-publication and real publication.
The thing is, this writer does, she just wants to obliterate it, at least as far as her own deathless prose goes. It's the future of publishing! Anyone whose book didn't sell should try it! (Yes, I've been on the receiving end of her spiel.) It should be treated with respect because it's where you find the cutting-edge, out-of-the-box books! And if Third Place Books doesn't treat her like she's on a level with Diana Gabaldon or Bernard Cornwell (to name some actual big names with actual publication credits from the national Historical Novel Society), then they're being unforgivably rude and she'll never shop there again!

ETA I am exaggerating slightly. She just seemed to have this expectation that the bookstore should be thrilled to have us there and be partnering with us on what we could do for the bookstore, and until one of sells a book to a legit print publisher, the answer is NOTHING. Even then, it's not like the bookstore is going to bend over backwards for you WRT giving a talk, a signing, or whatever unless you're at least SOMEWHAT of a name or there's a good current-event or pop culture hook for your book because otherwise you're not going to draw traffic to the store.
Is there one showing a 100% correlation between Bobby Brown's little steps, you being there, and them being together?
Or an actual ironic examples vs. Alanis examples?
I even have snooze capability. "You want another few minutes?"
"Yes, please."
"*sigh* Fine."
Hey, I have the British version of that alarm clock!
I have not been able to wake up properly this entire week, and thus have been strolling into the office, er, later than I should. Which is saying something, considering "core hours" don't start around here until 10AM. But my team doesn't care! I don't think they even notice! All they care about is if I'm getting work done and not going insane.
Sniff. I'm glad to see I am not the only one who still likes Friends, even if I didn't really watch the last couple seasons. It's funny--the reruns of Friends I still watch and enjoy, even from long ago, but the Seinfeld reruns are annoying and dated. Why is that?

I'm enough of an insomniac, I don't need trust issues with my pillow.

Heh. My Sister has one of those unfathomable-outside-her-industry jobs so that's what we always say she does.
Supposably
that's what she does.
I AM going insane.
