FWIW my putative MOH can wear whatever she wants.
Good to know.
Maybe I am a cowgirl after all.
Post marked.
I wish I had time to go through the dress pics, but instead I have to go to the meeting from hell which is every day. EVERY DAY. Wait, or do I have to go to the meeting which is cut off by the meeting from hell which is every day?
Either way, I'm about to be late.
Seriously -- are all the men wearing tuxes?
Um, I don't know, but probably.
This is a Midwestern wedding, you guys. The bridal party is formal! I can't be the only one with a cocktail-length skirt or my family will talk about it for YEARS.

Don't all the men in the wedding party usually wear tuxes?
Or maybe, like Shrift said, I'm used to that as a Midwestern Thing. Tuxes, expensive/useless/ugly/Prom-y bridesmaid dresses.

Things you never thought you'd see in this lifetime.

I've been to several weddings where the bride and groom were the only people actually in formal wear. Then the groomsmen wear suits and the bridesmaids don't necessarily wear gowns.
if I knew these people, I'd be all LEGS LEGS LEGS it's going to be AUGUST are you people CRAZAZY?
wait...you don't know the people whose wedding you will be wearing this dress in???
Or the coalition of bridesmaids not you picked the color/length and you don't know them?
She doesn't know all the bridesmaids. I assume most of them are the bride's friends/relatives.
Scheduling and lack of energy never means we aren't friends. FWIW.
I know. I just feel like I've been being crap at it on all ends. Mostly I'm just overtired, cranky, and impossible to please.
Perhaps I should have a side of fries for lunch, since I am skipping the first meeting that would be curtailed by TMFH.

I hear you, shrift. I was in an August bridal party in Monroe, MI, and we were all in floor length Vera Wang, and the guys in tuxes. No one thought twice of it.
not that I am planning a wedding, but this is not a bad bridesmaid option: [link]
