This is why I gave in and started wearing makeup. Now I look tired but tarted-up.
Actually, it does make me feel like I look less tired, but I figure it's like setting your alarm clock 15 minutes ahead. Eventually, you get used to it and start compensating for it, but you can't stop doing it.
Congratulations Allyson on moving!
Ugh. I was supposed to catch up on my sleep last night, but instead I woke up at about 4 am when Isaac woke up crying. Seemed his sister fell off her bed and onto his. I put her back on her bed, she slept through the whole ordeal. He fell back asleep no problem. I alas did not.
Also the jury is still out on the new haircut. I like it well enough, but the general reaction seems to be a single comment: "Nice haircut" followed by nothing else. I'm reading that as: Oh, she cut her hair. Hmm, she'll want me to say something. What's non-committal? Oh! "Nice haircut."
Oh- I forgot to say congrats to ALlyson re: the move. I was amused that when I read about it, I was watching Eureka! I wanted to post at the time, but my new nails and my new phone do not go together well in therms of posting!
Also, I was just watching this video posted over at shakesville, and somehow Mick Jagger is reminding me of Ethan Rayne...
It looks like that award is the equivalent of our Tony Awards.
(I wish that they'd filmed that production of Othello too.)
ION, beagles!
WE HAD A GOOD MORNING!!
it is not that our mornings are ususally horrible, but they are often rushed and have at least once instance of me getting exasperated and mac getting upset. Today, not so. WE HAVE TWARTED YOU MORNING!!
I think the key was repeating the mantra, "do only what HAS to be done". That left me time to help mac getting dressed, and me being there kept him focused. He was first in line for school to open and he loves that.
I am also working on smiling at him more. I tend to look like something is bothering me when not thinking about anything (confirmed by random sampling of people I trust) - he reads this as anger - I went out ona limb and decided that was proably not great, so more smiling and engaged eyes!

Sue, your painting tales have confused me and made me laugh. please be safe.
I remember at school, girls weren't allowed to wear trousers. I've no idea why. They had to wear skirts.
We had to wear skirts until 1970. I remember the change well. The sensible girls wore snow pants under the skirts and kept them in the lockers with our coats, but plenty of girls just wore hose. Frostbite on shins was not uncommon.
Yay corduroy! The look suits you well, Tom. Thanks for indulging us with the pics.
Isaac is up now. mmm. Sun is up too. Guess it's time to make coffee.
It's Monday again, isn't it?
