I'm confused by my Shabbos candles. I always light them in roughly the same place, but not exactly the same place -- I just put the candlesticks on the table, so they could move a few inches to one side or the other from one week to the next. And the two candlesticks are maybe three or four inches away from each other. And each week, without exception, the candle closer to the kitchen will melt normally and without a mess, while the one further away from the kitchen will melt down really quickly and leave a huge puddle of melted wax in the candle holder. My guess at first was that one was in a draft, but it's the same whether the heat or the air conditioner is on, and whether the window is open or closed.

Just different air flow patterns. Do you walk by the messy one more? That'd be enough.
ita, get home safely.
The pain has ebbed. I'm going home.

I don't think so. I mean, it's slightly closer to the edge of the table, but not by much. They're no more than four inches away from each other. I think the thing that's puzzling me the most about this is that having the air conditioner on or the window open doesn't change the melting pattern at all.
Maybe next week I'll try having them parallel to one of the edges of the table, rather than at an angle, and see what that does.
ALL THINGS F*&^&**%^& in the WORLD. Another note home from school - about continued bad behavior ALL WEEK - and I have asked everyday this week if there were any problems and was told no. Afterschool teacher says little lies are becoming a problem also. Consider hands thrown in air. %&*^%^&%^$E$%^$%^&%^$&*%^&*%^&*%^&*(^&*(%^%&*%^&$%^&*
Home safe, ita.
That is so awesome about Gracie!!!
My parental plans of strolling around were cut short by rain, so we went to the place we were planning on having dinner at about 4:30. We stretched it out, but were still done by like 6:30, so they just went back to the hotel. Kind of awesome, for my part.

That just sucks. I mean, you can only deal with what you know about!

This reminded me of a Thanksgiving, many years ago, when my cousin just. did. not. shut. up. through the whole meal. At the end, the taper candle at her end of the table was a good four inches shorter than the one at the other end.
Ailleann - that's hilarious.
My boss brought us lunch - sandwiches from her favorite spot in Peoria (where she grew up). Made with delicious bread that had this sweet taste... just slightly sweet. She also brought us these thumbprint cookies that were like pecan sandies with a dollop of icing. They were from her favorite bakery AND she brought two cakes - one vanilla, one chocolate both with white icing - also from her favorite bakery.
It was delicious.
You are missing the obvious explanation, Hil. Angels.
