I thought this was a response to one of the other nominees: The Pirate Guide to Parenting.
Heh. No, it was me receiving my daily dose of irony.

Allyson, if you're going to Book Expo, have loads of fun! I'm hoping to go the next time it's back in Chicago--the last time I went was back in 2001, and I always have the best time. Loads of free books (I average about 175-200 books over the course of the weekend), the opportunity to meet authors and have them sign books (Julie Andrews, Gary Sinise, Anthony Bourdain, Nora Roberts, Jane Alexander, Pat Schroeder, the astronaut Al Bean, amongst many others), and getting a look at what's coming out for the next year.
Allyson, I'm feeling tremendous guilt. But I also think we should sue Ikea.
I have lost my voice (bye-bye voice!) and I'm eating a chicken tarragon sandwich (YUM!).
Exciting news: I get to get new eyeglasses this afternoon! WHEE!
Yay for new glasses!!
(That reminds me, I have to go shopping for flip-up clipon sunglasses for my frames, since I can't afford to replace my lenses with my newest prescription before going to Florida in April.)
I forgot that BEA was in LA this year! I'm totally going (on my educator credentials). SO EXCITING. I cleaned up on free books 3 or so years ago.
Kristin, thank you so much for the offer. Noah is sick and is a snot/coughing machine. I'm scared to expo others to him!

Oh, hmph. I had high hopes!
I think it was in NY last year or the year before. Sorry, Jesse.

Isn't it so much fun?!? When I moved two years ago, I finally got rid of all the books I'd been meaning to read that I accumulated at three BEA conferences but had never gotten around to. (I still have a few that I couldn't part with, however.)
This morning I cooked a pot of brown rice so I could take some to work with me for lunch. I feel weird.
