Is the ick more in having a party/spending money on it?
Sort of. I loved playing with nail polish and make up etc. But it was an at-home thing. My mom certainly didn't take me to a salon that was designed with kid-me in mind. I guess it's the idea of a service industry popping up around it.
Though, maybe the nail salon is better than Chuck E. Cheese.

In my mind, it's the spending money at a specialty venue for it. A few years ago, a friend of mine told me that her 9 year old neice wanted Auntie Thea and Her Friend Jilli to be the guest stars at her birthday party, so we could do everyone's makeup. That was all sorts of fun, and having wee baby gothlings ask to be made up "all glamorous and spooky!" was the best part.
But special salon chains that are aimed at kidlings? That freaks me out.

right out!
2.5 hour meeting that drained me. Followed by unsucessfully attempting to view lecture which is somehow broken for my computer. Can see it on the other pc, but other pc has no sound. Ahrg.
Tired.
Also, I'm considering getting fake nails (wraps or tips or whatever the cool kids do these days) for professional reasons. I think my bitten down stubs really can't be helping they way I'm percieved. Thoughts pro/con?
When I get mani I always get them cut short and painted something neutral. That seems low-maintenance and professional-looking to me.
I have never had an official, pay-for-it, manicure in my life.
Prince Harry has been secretly serving in Afghanistan for the past few months
This is one of those "secret from whom?" stories that always makes me laugh. Harry is sitting there reading the article going, "Dude! They told me it was Bolivia. Uncool!"
Although, apparently, it's the Drudge Report that gets an uncool on that one.
Ya know, really. My love for All Things Royal aside, I'm really illogically pissed off at Drudge for releasing that. He is not Ours, as in American. And he's off flighting a bloody war, too. They had no right to publish what they had, regardless of where they got the information in the first place. It's irresponsible and it makes me really not like Drudge. He may be a Prince, but he's still someone's kid and if he gets picked off now because he's easier to find and the secret's out, I hope Drudge burns.
I'm also cranky today.
