Happy Birthday, Beverly!
Incidentally, I've never been so happy about the end of a long weekend. It's kinda-sorta quiet in my office, and I don't have to share this computer with anybody! (As Bitches readers already know, Annabel broke our laptop Saturday morning, so we're down to one computer until it's back from the shop in a week or so.)
Happy Birthday, Benno!
...who has to be like, 26 now, right?
sumi, I know I'm often scarce in these parts so I apologize if I've missed something, but...what shit? What fan?
Those of you packing to move? I'm sending all my best wishes. I think if we ever do move, I'm just...walking out and starting over. Just thinking about trying to pack gives me hives. No, I know it's gotta be done. And all props to those in the midst of it.

If I may be so bold as to answer for sumi, sumi works for the college that had the shooting last week in Illinois.

The last time I moved, I did entertain thoughts of setting it all on fire and starting over with the insurance money.
Joe and I ultimately got our California lives down to 80 boxes, 3 bookshelves, and what could fit in the Windstar.
I was shocked and amazed. But every so often, I am also pissed because I
know
I have a (insert kitchen tool of choice) and can not find it. And it was a nice one! I spent money on that! Where is it? Fuck. Yard sale in LA.
I am one of the few and proud who love to move. love to pack, love to unpack.
of course, now with mac, the thought of doing so exhausts me, so we will probably stay put for a good long while.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOVERLY BEVERLY!!!
Happy birthday, Benno-boy!!
This last time i moved was the first time I used movers and it was weird to stand there and have someone do the heavy lifting.
Me too, except weird=FANTASTIC. Given where I live now, I'm using movers when I move out of my place. Only way to do it.
Plus the head of the moving crew was this insanely tall black man with an oh-so-posh British accent who called one of his guys "Number One" (the other guy was just John) and said "Engage" as the cue when they were team lifting things.
I'm slightly in love with your mover, brenda.
So. Let's say I have some nice art prints I want to get framed in a nice way, but I don't want to spend a fortune. What are my options?
eta: I'd be willing to spend somewhere in the vicinity of "a fair amount" but hopefully less than "lots."
My engineering students, having finished their downhill racers, are now jumping rope. Of all the days not to bring my camera...
