I know! A real cutie. I was pulling for the Newfie, of course, but the beagle is definitely cute.

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath. Oh, and help us get Terriers dvds!
Oh hey. Vortex reminded me...
Someone needs to do something about Shirley Jones on Days. She all, "I'm Colleen Brady, dont'cha know! Stefano DiMera's always after me Lucky Charms!" It's really bad.
We could go back to crafts. Does canning count as a craft? I'm making marmalade right now, AIFG.
The beagle just had so much personality and presence, I had to root for it. Those were some gorgeous pups all around, though.

I think you should start a home business on the side. I mean, you marmalade a lot, right? And it always sounds so goooood.

do you want to share? I know that when I do that sort of thing I always have a bunch of extra. I'm just trying to be helpful.
Huzzah! It's about damn time. My question is (Kristen?) how well did the guild make out on it's demands? And yet again thanks for the updates.
Does canning count as a craft?
How does one can? Are there actual cans involved? How does that work?

It's a mixed bag. Obviously, there was no movement on the DVD rate. (And, frankly, I don't think there ever will be.) We got an increase on EST (aka iTunes) but not a great one. We got a good rate on internet rentals and, given the recent launch of iTunes rentals, could prove to be a nice amount of money down the road. We did get jurisdiction on a lot of the made-for-the-internet programming. We also got residuals on ad supported streaming of tv and features.
What we got on ad supported streaming is better than I thought we'd get but worse than what I would have liked. But there are some clauses in the package that should, hopefully, help us in the future as that platform becomes more popular and profitable.
I don't think we'll really know how well we did or didn't do for a few years.
really it ought to be called jarring

There are glass mason jars, like we used to use for beer and wine back in college. You get those hot, fill them with boiling jam or jelly or marmalade or what have you, and then pop a lid and a ring (to hold down the lid) on top and stick the product in a huge pot of boiling water for 10-20 minutes. A vacuum forms in the jar. Then you hand out jam to your local friends, and pile various varieties by the door, promising yourself once a month or so that you really will mail them out this week, honest.
If you're me.
Which is to say, I always have extra, and I never manage to make it to the damn post office.
