Comparing Echo to Molly might not be the best thing; William Gibson (much as I adore him) does not have the best track record on women characters either. He makes them strong, yes, but they're all prototypically prostitutes (Molly, Mona, Sybil) or children (Kumiko, Chia, Chevette) or sexually idealized nonpeople (3Jane, Angie, the Idoru, the Belonging Kind). Except for Cayce. I think Cayce was okay; she was an adult professional. I can't remember anything that pinged me about her.
There are definitely potential problems from that trailer, but we'll see. If I were guessing, I'd lay money on me not sticking with it because sexual abuse and messing with memory are both personal hot button issues for me. The amount of messing with memory that they do on
Torchwood is enough for me to often feel they were all villains.
So I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be happy. But we'll see where they go with it.
Still haven't seen the trailer, but I always remind myself that the trailers are the work of the network, and we're talking about Fox here.

Heh - yeah, I wasn't necessarily seeing the Molly parallels as comforting.
Hm. Eliza Dushku as Molly.
...I could kinda see that.
Shshshshshsh! Keanu Reeves will hear you.

oh they are. Not a good one in the bunch. It's one reason why I love that show.
Well, the Buffy seasons blur a little for me, since I literally watched like three and four at a time until I was done. Many high points, though. My favorite character is Anya. I, of course, already knew the musical because Joss played me the songs on his piano on The Cape way back when. So I was really looking forward to that... then if I recall I was kinda surprised by how much the season around that episode sort of... um. Er. Gotta go.
That was around the time I stopped watching, I think. I know I saw the musical but I can't remember anything other than the season premiere that year.
Though that doesn't necessarily mean that I didn't see them. As TNT as taught me, there are entire episodes of Angel S5 of which I have zero recollection. And I know I must've watched them.
Hey, you know what sucks? Angel season one!
(is that it? Am I done?)
