The Minearverse 6: Fiery Thread of Death

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath. Oh, and help us get Terriers dvds!

Woe to the fucking wicked.

A lot of those don't look felted in the picture. I might need to put that book on my wishlist.

Thrive to spite them

So I heard back from the yarn company. They are going to authorize a replacement skein, and asked if I was willing to send mine to them so the mill could figure out what happened. And they are giving me one of their pattern books as a free gift for helping them figure out the problem.

I'm floored. And their response has now changed my mind and I'll be buying yarn from them in the future.

Trust my rage

My grandma always taught me to unwind the entire thing and make a ball. Which is what I always do but I'm always anxious to get started knitting when that happens.

eta: and I just discovered there is a really cool yarn shop right across the street and down the block from my office. I was looking at $90 balls of yarn yesterday, but SO PRETTY!

Thrive to spite them

I ran down to the yarn shop to tell Katy this and look at some of the books she has so I could really pick out the one I wanted.

They have some sweater patterns up to size 3x! And some of the patterns only went to XXL but it seemed the majority had a wide range of sizes, which is another reason to recommend them.

Art Crawl!!!

Hmm, those hats must have some sort of infrastructure to get them to maintain their shape, right?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Kristen, how far back do I have to in order to get the Birkhoff quotes? I caught Aliens the other night, and although I didn't know what song he quoted just afterwards, I detected a LotR quote...

Inexplicably or absolutely not, that makes him one of the most "normal" sounding guys on TV. I mean, who doesn't enjoy a good quote? ALL THE TIME???

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Right? I was just thinking that last week, that he talks like most people I know with the liberal sprinklings of quotes and references, but that is probably not what many people would think of as naturalistic dialog. But it is!

As to this week, whoa. I did not see that trap coming. Pins and needles for what happens next, I tell you what.

That was a great finale, guys! Second saddest one this week!--the bit from Birkhoff starting firing to Nikita doing her shit with the pipe--those buttons have been installed for a long time, and they were precisely hit.

And nice last minute reveals.
