”I am very good on grammatical concepts. I spent years learning it, so it enjoys me to use it in my writing.”
There was a time in my life that I could have written this sentence purposefully, with tongue firmly planted in cheek. And gotten away with it. Had a teacher offer us extra credit for memorizing Hamlet's "To Be or Not To Be" soliloquy overnight. When it was my turn to recite, I came out with "Jabberwocky", got a few laughs, and the points. Still had to have the soliloquy down pat for the exam the next week, though.
On the plus side, at least your student has confidence in their ability or lack thereof.
Her confidence is the freakiest part!
Who did that study that showed incompetent people are more confident of their capabilities than people who can actually do the tasks correctly?
We need to send that study to JZ ex-jackhole bosses. Then ask how confident that one is on his reading people skills.
Kelly Manners is Dollhouse's line producer. I don't even know what a line producer is, but it sounds... linear. I am guessing they are the hands-on producer on set?
"Line" = budget, in productionspeak. The line producer is the person in charge of keeping the other producers from going over budget.
Ah, as in "the bottom line."
or "Toeing the line"
Now I have that Tommy James song in my head...
I feel fine, I'm talkin' bout peace of mind, I'm gonna take my time. I'm gettin' the good sign... Draggin' the line (draggin' the line)
