The Minearverse 6: Fiery Thread of Death

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath. Oh, and help us get Terriers dvds!

Compassionately intolerant

Christina. That's the part driving me crazy. It used to be Elizabeth, but even she has been eclipsed. Blegh.

Yes, both of those story lines are a waste of time.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Nice interview on AV Club with Melanie Lynskey. She talks a bit about her experience on Drive.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Over the weekend, I was watching a Biography Channel show on Kate Winslet, and was really annoyed when some bimbo from from some entertainment mag said that Kate's performance in Heavenly Creatures stole the show, because, after all, "Who even remembers the other girl from that film?

Grrrr.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

What part, Cass? I have to FF the Kristina stuff, and the Liz stuff. I'm enjoying the lawyer ladies and the trial stuff. The Sonny/Dante/Johnny/Jason stuff is full of pretty.

Well the Kristina stuff is finally going somewhere and maybe it'll be a good lesson for someone out there. But the show does love to brutalize it some women, all the while saying it's bad. It took ages to get someplace though.

And Sam bugged me yesterday even though I get where she's coming from.

Lawyer ladies (just Alexis and Diane, hate the new prosecutor for reasons that I assume are the writers fault) are so awesome. Trials, no matter who what when or why bug me and I have to just remember to blip past them. I ff'd past Brenda's trial even. (And I love Brenda the most.)

Plus I loathe Michael a lot. I was *eyes wide* amazed when he killed Claudia because it could be a way to really look at his brain and family dynamics but, as it is playing out, I just kinda want him to confess and get thrown in jail for a few years until we have new writers. He's 18, let him grow up.

I think my bug is that nothing at all was actually happening. It's just sort of dancing in place.

GH does usually move at a much brisker pace. The Michael part could be done so much better. Alexis and Diane are just plain fun; I forgot about other lawyer lady. I'm still watching for relaxation, but there isn't any cliff hanger type thing I am breathlessly waiting to resolve.

I did read somewhere or other that there was going to be some Ward family characters moving in with the Quartermanes. More Q time is always a plus for me.

Man, the Qs. I nearly forgot they were on the show. It'll be good to have them back.

Last week just dragged on every single storyline for me.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Alan Quartermaine is on DOOL. Cool. I don't watch GH, but he was on there when I was in high school.

eta: Monica! That was her name. They were a fun couple.

Yes, I was not pleased when they killed of Alan. It would be nice to see the actor as a regular somewhere.

He's playing a Senator that Anna is manipulating but I have no idea how long his stint is going to be on the show.
