No, it was a pilot for a show that was picked up but then abandoned due to the writer's strike.
The Minearverse 6: Fiery Thread of Death
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath. Oh, and help us get Terriers dvds!
Just watched the Dollhouse opener. I think the buzz is overly negative and it could make a really interesting show.
Has the buzz really been that bad? The reviews we've seen so far haven't said claimed that it's a perfect show, but they have been mostly positive, which is more than could be said about Firefly.
The earlier reviews were pretty bad. It's still a mixed bag in terms of reviews, and I'm mixed on it myself.
The buzz overall though has been very bad though - I'm amazed how FOX have handled key things with the series, which I said would translate negatively into press, and I wasn't wrong. I mean, Dollhouse is on the cover of a magazine here and the headline is something like 'Is Dollhouse doomed?', which isn't exactly going to get people watching, and much of the articles elsewhere follow the same format. If they had put some thought into the Friday move and done a press release with Joss supporting it at the time, it would have helped a lot. Instead Joss has come out in retrospect saying 'I would have put it on Friday night, too', but that's too late, the horse has bolted. Broadcasting and Cable's question to Peter the other day was hilarious: "Is Dollhouse really as bad as people say?". That's PR gone wrong.
Either way, I think most of the episodes will air, if not all of them.
Also, if I hadn't known Joss had written the first episode, I would have bet a lot of money on Tim writing it, or at least coming up with the plot.
I'm doing a Dollhouse special on my radio show in 2 hours. Linky - [link]
I saw a Dollhouse billboard today... it wasn't particularly exciting.
Was it the one with all the white mannequins?
Show is up on Feedburner: [link]

I think so. There's one in front, then Eliza, and a few behind. The billboard is quite stark and I had to get pretty close before I could read the copy "she can be anyone but herself". If I wasn't already interested in the show I don't think the billboard would have done it for me.
That's the one I saw on the digital billboard near my office. I found it odd.
