The Minearverse 6: Fiery Thread of Death

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath. Oh, and help us get Terriers dvds!

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

What does the favored nations clause mean in this context?

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

*stomps on glib off-topic reply* All this talk of Most Favoured Nation is giving me all sorts of flashbacks to high school debate, the year we did China....

I have no reply for libkitty. But yay for the writers getting a deal that doesn't totally suck, and extra yay for Kristen giving us the no-rumours low-down! (This is the only place I've been getting strike news from.)

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

A large number of BTL workers on the TV side may end up being unemployed for a total of 5-10 months, depending on the show.

egad, that sucks. I don't know how you cover that kind of unexpected work gap.

For a different perspective, Harlan Ellison does not like the deal. Or any of us folks who do.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Does Harlan Ellison like anyone?

Didn't Harlan Ellison used to be good at rage essays? Cause I couldn't tell what the fuck he was talking about. He could be 100% right for all I know; but there was nothing in what he wrote that would have told me that. I don't mean that he was unconvincing. I mean he did not tell me what to be convinced or unconvinced about, other than the fact that he is really pissed at the WGA leadership and the deal Is Really Bad.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Harlan Ellison is pissed? Alert the media.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Does Harlan Ellison like anyone?

He totally liked me.

Yeah, but again normally you can tell what Harlan is pissed at. And really he is fairly selective about what makes him angry. It is just that usually when he is mad he is really good about telling you all about it. This last link NSM.

Visilurking

I thought he made it pretty clear. He's pissed at the 17 day window. He's pissed at the dropping of animation and reality. But he's really pissed that after months of striking for a fair deal, he feels the writers got NSM. And I agree that the deal is not "fair", but I also admit, were I a writer, it is probably what I would accept.
