Natter 56: ...we need the writers.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Damn, beth.
In apparently minor crime news, I guess the deli I like got robbed yesterday morning, because when I went to go in there at 12:30, cops told me the store was closed. But then it was open again later in the afternoon, so I assume it was nothing too major, or anything against the owner or something.
Yeah, the worst we got was a riot an Evergreen during a "Dead Prez" concert.
You guys, for the first time in years I just got a Friday NYTimes crossword puzzle 100% correct without looking anything up. Could I be ready to attack Saturdays?? (If you don't know, they get progressively harder, Mon-Sat. Sunday is bigger, but not as hard as Friday, usually.)
I used to not suck at crosswords. I envy you greatly, Jesse.
I'm at bedbathandbeyond.com. I need a new pot. Simple enough. I'm trying to browse to something similar to what I'm retiring. Alors! What is this? Braisers/Everyday Pans? Whose day is this every? What am I missing?
I know what I need is something like this (haven't decided between non-stick or non-non-stick yet). But I wonder about these cooks and their every days of which I know not.

My training is totally paying off! Although, then I read the blogs of the actual elite crossword puzzle types, and realize that I'm barely training at all.
Also, I don't think I knew there was an item called a braiser. Huh.
Braisers are used in pairs, and they're on the top of narrow columns, holding a lightly fragrant flame. They're placed to either side of the altar.
It is also possible that one is used to place the excised organ after the sacrifice hsa taken place.
Basically, I thought they lived in D&D.
I'm familiar with braising, but I'm pretty sure I can do it in my regular dutch oven.
I think those are braziers, no?
My writing instructor says I tend to use perfectly grammatical British phrasings that she fears may confuse American readers. For instance "I think it an illustration" vs. "this is an illustration.
Gee, I wonder where I picked up that habit?
I think those are braziers
Same (c/s) swapping as happens all the time across the waters.
Watching Danny Baldwin in Outer Limits. Wow, that man looks tired.
And then there are brassieres!
I kinda blew the weekend. Grocery shopping got done, but I didn't clean (will have to during the week or I'll go insane) and didn't tape the carpets. Boo.
My mom's position at the neighborhood school was eliminated for next year. (Professional development teacher.) She found out after hearing a rumor that if a school under 500 got an asst. principal, they lost the PDTs. She had to confront the principal (who made the call) to get this confirmed. They didn't announce it when they announced the asst. principal position. Talk about shitty managing. She's a little bitter.
She'll find something for next year , it just sucks.
