If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

It's rare, though, to see action on those principles and I have to say I kind of admire McKinnon for it.

I just can't figure out what those principles are that would have you divided between Obama and McCain. Unless one of them is a blood relation, it just makes no sense.

to me having the principles and making a public statement about them is the disconnect.

In politics you campaign against the opponent and campaigns almost always get a little ugly. So if you are principled against ugly campaigning, I get that and it is probably gonna be a bit hard to find campaigns to work on. But he seems to be saying he would only be against ugly campaigning against Obama. To me, it seems odd.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Clinton counts on superdelegates

WASHINGTON -- Hillary Clinton will take the Democratic nomination even if she does not win the popular vote, but persuades enough superdelegates to vote for her at the convention, her campaign advisers say.

The New York senator, who lost three primaries Tuesday night, now lags slightly behind her rival, Illinois Senator Barack Obama, in the delegate count. She is even further behind in "pledged'' delegates, those assigned by virtue of primaries and caucuses.

But Clinton will not concede the race to Obama if he wins a greater number of pledged delegates by the end of the primary season, and will count on the 796 elected officials and party bigwigs to put her over the top, if necessary, said Clinton's communications director, Howard Wolfson.

I've read conflicting things as to whether this would work. Thoughts?

Also,

Clinton -- who initially joined other Democrats in opposing Michigan and Florida's decisions to go ahead with early primaries -- now wants the votes of those primaries counted. The Obama camp thinks that idea is unfair, since candidates were not allowed to campaign in those states, and Clinton alone kept her name on the Michigan ballot, meaning Obama did not have a chance at getting even provisional delegates.

What Hilary wants amounts to changing the rules after the fact because it would help her. Hopefully she at least won't get this.

I'm in an unaccountably good mood today, but I have no specific reason for the happy. Well, it's payday! And I'm still grooving on my raise, so there's that.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I went home and am posting from bed.

It makes me happy. I don't know about you.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Any candidate has the right to go after as many or as few superdelegates as they want. The parties make their rules, and the candidates shape their campaigns within those rules. Though I have deep philosophical problems with government-run closed primaries. If you're going to exclude eligible voters, don't have the government run your election.

On the other hand, there's the potential for a major PR disaster. It leaves the candidate vulnerable to "overturning the will of the people" spin unless the superdelegates effectively act as a tie-breaker.
