Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I just went online and bought seven shirts for the remainder of the winter and the summer. Now, I need to pick up two swimsuits and some pants and jeans, then I'll be set until the fall. I've had some parting-seam issues with pants, so I need to pick up some replacements pretty soon.

Lunchbreak timelies!

I've thought I was about to get sick a couple of times this winter and every time, a glass of Airborne (or the TJ's clone) morning & night + 2-3 Vit Cs have staved it off. So far, so good.

I woke up invigorated this morning and did 2 hours of digging/prep/picking ivy sprouts out of the garden before work. Good times. There are so many birds in my neighborhood, it sounds like a jungle outside in the morning, only, not tropical birds. It's lovely. I'll probably go back to being my usual slug tomorrow, but if not, time to try growing red chard.

back to work.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Since when does filking fall outside of typical Buffista activity?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm on day 2 of "Outside? Really?"

Me too. Today that means I'm still in my pjs from last night, as is Isaac. Irrepressible Frances insisted on getting dressed, or rather she insisted on getting undressed and I insisted on her putting something on.

So as to give the other slugs something to eat?

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

My pants are intact, but quite damp -- it's raining large cats, larger dogs, and the random pony out there, on top of 2" of slush.

Well, at least it's not hailing taxis.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

SD memory cards can survive going through the laundry. Who knew?

Data intact?

Yep. Warm wash, warm rinse, 25 minutes of tumble dry. (I had left it in one of my shirt pockets). Files (jpgs, it's one of the cards for my new camera) all intact, and the card is still readable and writable to full capacity (1.86Gb).

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

"Arresting Holiday Dresses": 1973 fashion meets TV detectives

There was a Shaft TV series? Huh. (Only 7 episodes.)

I love this comment:

Perhaps the less said about Buddy Ebsen lurking behind a tree the better...
