Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Gorillas and the missionary position

Researchers say that few primates mate in a face-to-face position, known technically as ventro-ventral copulation; most primate species copulate in what’s known as the dorso-ventral position, with both animals facing in the same direction. Besides humans, only bonobos have been known to frequently employ ventro-ventral mating positions. On a few occasions, mountain gorillas have been observed in ventro-ventral positions, but never photographed. Western gorillas in captivity have been known to mate face-to-face, but not in the wild, which makes this observation a noteworthy first.

I sense a new pickup line: "Hey baby, let's get ventro-ventral...."

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Do you have a fever, DJ?

I did. It broke earlier. I'm going to check in a minute to make sure it's not back.

I'm sure I caught this at the office because just about everyone was out with it last week.

My brother and the boys have had the flu that's going around. Basically a week of fever & the accompanying ick that entails. Doctor has pretty much said fluids, tylenol/advil and sleep a lot.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

sleep a lot

the one thing I can't do when I'm sick. I swear half the reason I get so grumpy when I'm sick is because I'm not sleeping.

That sucks. Sleeping a lot is my favorite part of being sick. (OK, maybe "favorite" isn't the right word....)

If I'm running even a slight temp, I tend to feel very twitchy. I can't really descibe it better- it's just this feeling that something is wrong to the point where I have to get up and move around or find something, anything to distract me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

When I had the fever for two weeks a few years ago, I kept randomly falling asleep, which is so unlike me, I can't even tell you. I had to take a quick nap in the middle of my parents' Christmas party.

I was at a seminar thing all day, and you guys, I did so well with the food! Things I did not eat: pastries for breakfast, baked ziti at lunch, rolls and crackers also at lunch, cookies and lemon bars for dessert. Things I did eat: salad, cheese, and chicken. And I was satisfied! And didn't feel gross after like I usually do after these things.

Ropa vieja with avocado and tomatoes for dinner.
