So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

in college, Noah Baumbach.

And Greg Rucka! (What? He's geek famous!)

JZ asks, "Law & Order: Crinoline Tent?"

Hee!

BILLYTEA! I think so.

In elementary school, I carpooled with a current state representative, a writer on King of the Hill, and a couple other guys who have more impressive CVs than I do. I also went to elementary school, middle school, and high school with this guy [link] but despite him being absurdly talented, he's not exactly a household name. (The last time I saw him was the '92 caucus. We were sitting with our elementary teacher and discussing our general feelings regarding a lack of direction, or something.)

I don't think anyone I've ever been friends with has become famous, though my upstairs neighbors in Downtown Olympia did (as Sleater Kinney). Friends in common, but I didn't know them. Same deal with her. [link]

Then again, my high school friends were the IB crowd, and my college friends were the gamer/computer geek crowd, not exactly the areas where people become household or even cult names.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Maybe--check the last few posts in Minearverse for details.

Ah! Thanks. That's good news.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Tommyrot, if you woke up this morning feeling tired, you were helping me move heavy furniture in my random dream last night. Er... thanks for the help?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Must watch a double bill of JAWS and ALL THAT JAZZ in honor of Mr. Scheider.

Also, GRONK! Massive, massive reams of gronk. Not caffeine enough in the world.

"Luckily" there was a sub-zero gale going on during the commute so that brisked me up just a little (after it kept me up all night with the howling and the porch/house creaking).

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Craigslist scams targeting renters desperate for affordable apartments.

not your mom's socks.

second that.

ok. extremely odd and unusual meeting upcoming at 10am. Hope I can pull it off. and then? to add to day of gronk? more real-estate madness. Maybe I'll go to the Obama rally at First Mariner as an out-of-state observer just to get a break.

hope everyone has a good day.

... (eta) and if not, hope they can find a way to shift the gronk. that's what I'm going for anyway.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Tommyrot, if you woke up this morning feeling tired, you were helping me move heavy furniture in my random dream last night. Er... thanks for the help?

Heh - you're welcome!

Actually, I woke up feeling refreshed and all awake and stuff - I left early so I could have steak and eggs before going to work.

Maybe I should do more stuff like that in my dreams.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Day Of Wind yesterday resulted in no power, no heat, no water, NO COFFEE. I am unshowered and minimally caffeinated (fortunately, gas stove, though all but my teensiest pot were dirty) and interim grade reports are due tomorrow. Fortunately, it's cold enough to trigger the gas fireplace, so the cat shouldn't die of cold before the power comes back on.

Send IV caffeine and power!
