January 1989, when for two weeks it never got above -50. And I think it got down to -70something. It was 45 degrees inside my apartment (SAC, designed for California, with two entrances but only one arctic entry, and no weatherstripping). Brr. Then the next year, we had record snowfall. I use cilantro in guacamole, and chili, and black bean soup, and sometimes on top of noodles with peanut sauce, and a zillion other places that I can't think of right now. One thing to remember wiith things like soups and chili is that it works best to put it in at the end -- it gets weird if you cook it for a long time.

I never cook with cilantro, I just gratefully eat whatever I buy that it's in -- I really should look into adding it into my shamefully slim cooking repertoire, in order to better make delicious things at home....
