Msbelle, I'm curious as to how it works with Mac. Is he automatically a US Citizen because you are?

He came in on a Visa (I forget the #), got a permenant resident card a few weeks after here and then after 6 mos, we could go through a re-adoption in the state to get paperwork that we then use to get a Certificate of Citizenship and a US Passport. We haven't done that last bit yet, so he has his Eth passport, the US permemnant res card and a SS card.

The re-adoption is my next step, I just need to call the lawyer thingy through work to get it started - with that comes name change so he won't have to be: His first name - My first name - Our last name: which is what the Eth government does automatically to all adoptees.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I still think his nickname, plus your lastname, is the BEST PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR NAME EVER!!!!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think Obama/Edwards would be a mistake - they're too similar to capture anything but the "fans of young charismatic populists" block. Obama's VP needs to be a smart experienced elder statesman type. Bill Richardson or Chris Dodd would be great.

And Tep, I've been having the same thoughts as you about the possibility of a McCain/Huckabee ticket. It would be scary, yo.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Obama/Richardson would be just dreamy. (And would help with my one big concern on the Dem side from yesterday -- that Obama polls so poorly among latinos.)

McCain/Huck is going to happen, I'm sure of it -- especially now that it's obvious that Romney isn't going anywhere.

Coding and Sleeping

I will never ever ever EVER underestimate the crazed religious right and their voting power.

They aren't that crazy over McCain though. I think there are the people who will only vote pro-life, but I don't think they will have a lot of passion for McCain.

I hope Obama can pull it out. I don't really have anything against Hillary but I think the country needs to break away from the Bush, Clinton, Bush cycle.

Right. Which is my point about why McCain would be very smart to tap Huckabee as his running mate -- Huckabee would get the religious right votes that McCain can't get all by himself.

I think the country needs to break away from the Bush, Clinton, Bush cycle.

Honestly, I don't understand this statement, and I hear it a lot. What does that have to do with whether Hillary would be a good president? I mean, really. What a BAD reason to *not* vote for a whip-smart, eminently qualified candidate -- because of her last name.
