Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My fave is the Rocket Powered Toilet. Lots of pretty chrome.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Here's my big fear for the presidential race, once the nominees are official: McCain taps Huckabee as his running mate.

Think about it. McCain can't get the crazed evangelical vote that Bush got in '04; they hate McCain. If McCain gets the nomination (and it surely looks as though he will), and his running mate is anyone but Huckabee, I think a HELL of a lot of crazed evanglical voters will stay home.

If Huckabee is his running mate, I'm going to be very, very scared. Because Huckabee will get the evangelical voters out in droves to keep a (gasp!) woman or a black man out of office. Count on it.

And if *I've* thought of it, you know that the McCain camp has already thought of it.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Green card is ten years, I think. Msbelle, I'm curious as to how it works with Mac. Is he automatically a US Citizen because you are?

not your mom's socks.

did anyone listen to Huckabee's speech last night? (was traipsing BBC while it was on)

freaked me right the hell out.

And if *I've* thought of it, you know that the McCain camp has already thought of it.

we will be on the next plain to Auckland. Watch us flee fly.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Good lord. A tanker truck full of chocolate has apparently shut down the Chicago Skyway.

Steph is me WRT McCain/Huck. Worst case scenario, and looking ever more likely.

[ETA - and man, doesn't that dual citizenship feel nice right about now?]

With all the biblical allusions? It make me think 2 things: (1) ::barf:: and (b) damn, he's got a HUGE ego to be making those kinds of comparisons.

A tanker truck full of chocolate has apparently shut down the Chicago Skyway.

All I can picture is Homer Simpson and the sugar truck that crashed, so he took all the sugar home and made a big pile in his backyard.

Punishingly Intricate

My new niece, Esther Mary, was finally born at 8:30 pm last night! My SiL ended up having to have a c-section but she's doing well and the baby was great. She was just chillaxin' in there.

Art Crawl!!!

Can I come with you? Auckland sounds like fun.

Wow. I have an actual snow day today. I heard that classes were cancelled pretty early this morning but I found out around 7:30 that essential personnel only 'til noon and after that - nothing. And I'm not essential personnel. So, I've been sitting on my sofa, knitting and watching Take Home Chef On Demand. It's very relaxing.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I hate wintry mix. HATE.

I love chicken thighs, I use them more than any other meat. They are inexpensive and flavorful. I can give you a million recipes. What’s in your fridge right now?

I love chicken thighs too, and as they are inexpensive, I will probably be cooking with them a lot more in the future! I just haven't done much cooking with them as of yet, so I feel like I need more information. Would love your million recipes.

Um. In my fridge? Not a ton. Pine nuts, celery, onion, green onion, carrots, broccoli, heavy cream, butter, tomatoes, peas, edamame. I also have potatoes and garlic and a variety of pastas.

Got any recipes for soup/stew? I realized upon looking at my credit card statement that I only can afford one more grocery bill this month, so I'm trying to make stuff stretch.
