Mal: So we run. Nandi: I understand, Captain Reynolds. You have your people to think of, same as me. And this ain't your fight. Mal: Don't believe you do understand, Nandi. I said 'we run'. We.

My teeth hurt. And my face. And my jaw. Sigh.

At least it isn't summer? I don't know if this would make any difference to your objections, but my mom always chops the unnecessary parts out of her support hose.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You should wear support hose, ita. Sorry.

Oh! Another interesting thing related to voting -- one of my coworkers isn't a citizen! I was fascinated. They must have moved here when she was tiny, because she has only an American accent. I was like, "!!!" and "!?!?!?" She said it's so if everything goes to shit here, she can just go back.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

There's a brand of support hose--Johst? Jobst? something like that--that are fairly comfortable and don't scream SUPPORT HOSE! You could try those.

We have a lot of canadians married to US citizens at work. I think one of my friends is planning on getting citizenship (it'll be her, um...fourth? USSR, then Latvia, then Canada) but the other of them is not, for now. She jokes she is waiting until she's done having little US citizens and her eyes stabilize so she can get the cheaper lasik in Canada. But I think that's just a joke. I have a vague recollection that they will still keep you in the rosters if you do certain things, but I have no idea.

I'm trying to recall if all the earlier dental work stung this much. I suspect it did, I'm just blocking. She warned me the gums would be worse, but OW. I also have some weird nerve that pangs where none of the work was done (it also goes numb when the place where the work was done got numbed. So, related. ) Stupid design.

You usually have to be a resident of a province for 3-6 months before you can get provincial medical insurance. But she can have dual citizenship, right? I thought the US stopped making you revoke other citizenships, even if they don't acknowledge dual citizenship.

Dental work sucks.

Speaking of Canadians, I got some data today where Canadian was a racial/ethnic category. Made me laugh. I know why they did it (we don't have many Canadians involved, so it's a legit point of diversity to pay attention to), but it was funny seeing it in a pie chart with "european american," "latina/hispanic american" and the other goofy discriptors they use.

It's probably something like that.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Are Chicagoistas bracing for Snowpocalypse?

Apparently someone involved in a trial down in Texas got in trouble for referring to "Canadians" on the jury, and everyone was like "WTF, there's no Canadians on the jury" and then found out it some kind of code for black people! Which is just...weird.
