I am jealous of your packzis and steak pie and boots, even though I have pho and cupcakes. BOO.

Also I am annoyed by stupid people.

Seriously--if you want to hang out with someone. And you email Monday and say "let's hang out this week", and the person says "Sure, how about Wed or Thurs?" do you REALLY think a response of "Oh, I'm busy, maybe I can call you Thursday aftenroon if my plans fall through" is REALLY going to endear you to this person you want to hang out with? NO. NO IT IS NOT, IT IS GOING TO MAKE HER WANT TO SMACK YOU WITH A CLUE BY FOUR.

I love those shoes, and Pucci! I went to the store at Ceasar's in Vegas and tried on, petted and gawked. One of my happiest memories of that vacation!

Back on Drive, they had put Emma in this Pucci top for the start of the race in Florida. Lauren (fellow writer) and I were trying to figure out where the hell her character was supposed to have gotten the shirt from. The joke was, "Did they stop at Caesars Palace on their way to Florida?" The Pucci Top became a running joke for us.

I should confess that I do, in fact, own a pair of Pucci shoes.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

How to make Jilli very paranoid: I just wandered down the hall to ask one of the other editors a question, and NONE of them were around. I am now slightly worried there was some sort of Sooper Sekrit meeting I wasn't told about.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Huh. I hadn't realized I grew up in the most Republican county in Alabama: [link]

Doesn't really surprise me, though. The county is a mix of Birmingham's wealthier outer suburbs and small town and rural, mostly blue collar, religious conservatives.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

can be seduced with shoes and tiny rhythm guitarists.

They really are better when tiny.

Its like they're condensed or something.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

NO IT IS NOT, IT IS GOING TO MAKE HER WANT TO SMACK YOU WITH A CLUE BY FOUR.

God, seriously!

I just heard a crazy story from a coworker -- she had plans with a married couple she's friends with (or just the wife? Not sure). She goes to confirm, the wife says, oh no, she has other plans now. OK. Rude, but OK. THEN coworker finds out the "other plans" are just with another mutual friend -- and her husband. Apparently the wife of the first couple really only likes to do couple things with other couples. She's OK with girls' night out, but not so much with having dinner with her husband and a single female friend. Bizarre!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Love the Emma/Pucci story!

OK, I've never been married, but that just sounds WEIRD, Jesse!! I'd be pissed. Especially if it was the wife I was friends with. (If it was the husband, I'd be thinking he needs to deal with his freaky jealous wife, but...)

That Noah face cracks me up.

I was in meetings for 6 hours today. Then at the dentist's for 90 minutes. Have temporary crown, appt for (likely) gold crown in 3 weeks. Once I get through my email, I'll go home.

Today probably defined tedium.
