Shit, meara, that sucks so badly.

Wow! That sucks, meara! I am so sorry!!!
oh noes meara. suck!
I'm a weird sort of political junkie, because I enjoy the candidacies, and I enjoy talking/speculating about them. Possibly more so than talking about what kind of president Clinton or Obama would make. Because the qualities that make someone a "good candidate" are not necessarily the qualities that make someone a "good president." And I find that interesting.
I am Tep.
And, honestly, Clinton and Obama have nearly identical policy plans, and neither one has any executive experience. So talking about who would make a better President has to be on the basis of their campaign rhetoric.
(Which, if we're being completely cynical, is driven mostly by "how angry can a black man be on TV before he's scary?" vs "how feminine can a woman be on TV before she's weak?" FEH.)

I am irked when she cites her first lady stuff as experience.
I wouldn't discount that experience at all. It gives her a much better idea of what the job actually is. One (see below) of my biggest fears about Obama is that he doesn't know how to put a good team together, which, in my opinion, is extremely relevant to how you govern. She's seen how it works and lived it every day for eight years.
Also, because of her presence in the White House, she has been pretty thoroughly vetted by the Republican slime machine. My other fear about Obama is what they are going to dig up on him. I think it's fair to say they can come up with something. What can they say about Hillary that's new?
Fuck, meara. I wish you much magic and also unemployment benefits and a great new job ASAP.
My doctor told me he was worried about blood clots in my leg, so I should see someone. I called his office and he wasn't available for weeks. They told me to call an affiliated urgent care. Who told me that my problem wasn't urgent/was too complicated so I needed to be seen by my regular doctor. I explained the impossibility of that and she transferred me to her manager.
At which point I got dropped. When I called back a different woman refused to let me talk to their manager, citing an appointment that had already been made for me. I told her I'd like to speak to him just in case, but she insisted not, and I should just come in at 3.
I hung up, and a few minutes later the first chick called me back and told me that I still shouldn't come to them and she'd call my GP's office and get me something there. I told her about the annoying other chick that had been cockblocking me, and at least I got an apology. Too much to hope there'd be a public flaying.
Result is that another doctor at my GP's office will see me tomorrow. I just hope the swelling goes down without incident before then. Or that if I die it happens quietly and not while I'm driving.

I am very unimpressed with the way the west coast is treating our Buffistas today.
she has been pretty thoroughly vetted by the Republican slime machine.
But I'm not sure that the slime machine has released everything they know, or think they know, and I suspect that if she's the nominee we'll get a whole boatload of new slime (esp about Bill's extra-marital activities).
My other fear about Obama is what they are going to dig up on him. I think it's fair to say they can come up with something.
So far they haven't come up with much at all. He preemptively revealed the cocaine thing - maybe that's the worst of it?
