Luckily you can do the conditional renewal on line ( if you have the right insurance) and do the smog whenever. ( ummmm.... why yes I have done that before)

That's not dumb, dumb is not realizing that your drivers license was up for renewal this year until AFTER your birthday. That'd be me. Dumb. Luckily, I'm all renewed now.
