We killed a homeless man on this bench. Me and Dru. Those were good times. You know, he begged for mercy, and you know, that only made her bite harder.

Punishingly Intricate

Of course, when I called the mech's, they are looking at it right now!

Is it at Brentwood, by any chance? My car got it's money eating repairs there last month and it seemed like they were always really slow to call me to give updates. so annoying.

man, I'm so sleepy. And it's only 2. And I just upgraded my browser and the fonts all look funny to me.

The status is NOT quo.

There is a HUGE flood in the hallway downstairs. Roto Rooter has been parked outside my classroom window all morning. Eep.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Roto Rooter has been parked outside my classroom window all morning.

Any chance you can use that as a motivational tool?

The status is NOT quo.

Kat and other teacher-types, you'll love this for the sheer ridonkulousness of school politics.

Our current interim head of school--who applied for the permanent HoS position and didn't get it--made an announcement on Friday. She's leaving to become the new head of school for Oprah's South African girls school. When is she leaving? Friday. (I can hear her "In your FACE, Board!" from here.)

We lost our middle school director a few months ago. That means that the only experienced admin remaining is our current upper school director.

This semester should be interesting.

ETA:

Any chance you can use that as a motivational tool?
I would try, but the students can't hear me over the truck anyway.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So who's not watching the SotU speech tonight?

Also, does Bush get to do one next year?

Thrive to spite them

I'm not watching!

Also the headline on the local paper called it his last. I hope that's true. I'm so looking forward to having a President I can listen to again.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Also, does Bush get to do one next year?

Nope. Tonight is his last.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

So not watching. I swear I've never seen the man speak in the last 8 years. Any time he comes on my TV or radio, it immediately gets changed.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I haven't watched any of his SotUs, so why start now.

IHappyN, I bought myself sunflowers and daisys.

IOHappyN - my boss (plus 2 other directors in the dept) are gone this week, and I am catching up on work. YAY. He's not at all a bad boss or hard to work for, but there is less to do while he is gone.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I'm so looking forward to having a President I can listen to again.

Ain't it the truth. And not just looking forward to a President whose speeches I want to watch -- I'll settle for not having to make desperate lunges for the alarm clock the next morning to get his voice off my NPR before I've had my coffee. It's like pledge drive season without the pledge drive's little reminders that in spite of the screeching annoyance of the moment I actually do like to listen to the stuff.
