It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I really dug Persuasion. I think it would be hard to do a teleplay for, but it was romantic. And I didn't hate Northanger Abbey, which is hard to like because she is such a dimwit. But Mansfield...I thought it might just be me because I was in a weird/bad mood yesterday, and had already been disappointed by Volver.

Punishingly Intricate

I really dug Persuasion.

I wasn't crazy about Persuasion (although I thought ASH was perfect!). I thought it was kind of lifeless and rushed.

Art Crawl!!!

No, Mansfield was bad and boring. Persuasian was not in the same class as the Amanda Root/Ciaran Hinds version and they made some inexplicable changes to the story.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Oh, my god, Monday. No. No, no, no.

I don't think my brain is awake enough to fully appreciate the horror that is Monday....

My Monday (so far; all of this occurred before 9:30):

People, if you keep saying the M-word, you're only going draw it's attention.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Why couldn't they have, at least, done something about her HAIR?

I know. I don't think she refused, because I saw a commentary from who where she was saying that her hair was dyed red for a part or audition or some such. I was left thinking that somehow they couldn't afford a wig?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That's fucking brilliant. I love two things: the look on sandy guy's face about a minute in--it's precisely "But, okay, I know these things, and that's not technically possible." and the sound effect of mouse clicks over the closing credits.

Love!

Where is all this Austen you all are talking about? I set my TiVo to record anything Austen and it is not catching it.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

On PBS, Masterpiece Theater is doing a "complete Jane Austen" thing. Which includes some new productions, and a rebroadcast of P&P and Emma which previously aired on A&E.
