Doesn't sound par at all to me. I think she should be okay. I don't think you get to be that sensible just by luck.
Sheryl, that's awful.
If anyone's breath was bated, the krav guy is in the Special Forces episode. It's just the start, but Brent seems to be hiding so far. Amir Perets (he's also in the Drillbit Taylor trailer) and Dugas have made brief appearances.
Looks like we only got two of our people on the show. But what's really traumatising is the way they talk about Amir's speed during a perfectly normal krav technique. I may just up and quit. I feel flatly humbled. Yikes.
Miss P has always amazed me, and I'm not sure how much is that sh's just my first "niece." Her brother is about the same age as D, and ...well, he's like D. Fun kid. A little problematic on volume right now, but that's the age.
t downer
Oh jesus. Just talked to the parents. Their cleaner's niece was kidnapped down in Juarez. For a 55K ransom. She's been missing over a couple months. There is no proof of life. It's appallingly common, and rarely ends well. I mean, the Mexican gov't sent in the army because the police either were outgunned or complicit. The latest chief of police is in the hospital in El Paso under mexican & US armed guard after surviving an assassination attempt. Whether it was tried because he was clean or dirty is unknown.
It's all kinds of wrong.
I tivoed both episodes, ita, but good to know which episode they are in. I might peek at the MMA one anyway.
I made steak for dinner. It felt very decadent.
Frances has spent most of the evening pretending that she's an OB. She has DH & I playacting various stages of pregnancy, birth, and post partum. She helped us give birth, then she swaddled the babies and she gave mine a bottle. She gave DH's baby some broth.
oh sarameg, that is brutal. How awful.
God, Sara, that's terrifying.
She helped us give birth, then she swaddled the babies and she gave mine a bottle. She gave DH's baby some broth.
Cute!
I don't know where she picked up the broth idea.
Huh. Is it OK to let indigenous peoples follow their own traditions, if that includes denying women the vote?
Some Mexican women lose right to vote
SANTA MARIA QUIEGOLANI, Mexico - Women in this Indian village high in the pine-clad mountains of Oaxaca rise each morning at 4 a.m. to gather firewood, grind corn, prepare the day’s food, care for the children and clean the house.
But they aren’t allowed to vote in local elections, because — the men say — they don’t do enough work.
...
...Cruz has launched the first serious, national-level challenge to traditional Indian forms of government, known as “use and customs,” which were given full legal status in Mexico six years ago in response to Indian rights movements sweeping across Latin America.
“For me, it’s more like ‘abuse and customs,”’ Cruz said as she submitted her complaint in December to the National Human Rights Commission. “I am demanding that we, the women of the mountains, have the right to decide our lives, to vote and run for office, because the constitution says we have these rights.”
ION, there are 82 million cats in the US, and 72 million dogs. It was around 2001 when the number of cats exceeded the number of dogs for the first time.
Yoiks, sara. That's terrifying and depressing.
I've done a ton of cooking this weekend: broccoli cheddar soup, roast with steamed veggies and special potatoes, rice and black beans, taco bake.
I'm TIRED and the week hasn't even started yet.
