Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

I do mostly size, but when I can put James Joyce next to Dorothy Parker, I will. I like to see 'em fight.

This is the same reason I put theology books next to classic romances.

ION...I was up at 5:30 this morning to get ready to drive 1.5 hours south to judge District Thespians for another district. Monologues from 9-3. My head hurts. Saw some things that were quite good and saw some things that were just sad. Do these kids work with their directors/sponsors? They also have no concept of "audition attire"!

All in all it was an interesting day, though. My students perform next week. I hope they are ready!!!!! I know my work is cut out for me next week making sure everything is together.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We have been the opposite of lazy mclazypants today, putting up the crib and realigning the bedroom with attendant dust and dusting and grump and ad hoc solutions and mind change and generally sweaty grumping.

We had Matilda in the bassinet for a good five months, but she's been in our bed with us since she could stand up, and we'd been dreading the contraction of our already crowded bedroom by putting up the crib. But it was either put up the crib or hire a babysitter every time we wanted to have sex.

Because the fancy Italian crib we inherited was missing some pieces I was forced to engage in carpentry today! There was hammering and construction.

So tired and sweaty and dusty and crabby. Must have cold alcoholic drinks soon.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Wow. They're showing Obama with 54% in South Carolina.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I slept through almost everything today. Missed acupuncture and therapy, just made massage.

And then went grocery shopping without my wallet. Luckily the woman in line behind me let me write her a check.

I am guessing that guys don't find that compelling (though they should) and that's the majority of the center's customers.

Thing is, the guys who sign up are almost to a man smaller than Amir, Brent, and Jon. They're certainly smaller than Bas. So having those guys represent us does us a disservice just about every time.

We don't have to show it all being done by women. Being done by men under 210 would be a start.

eta: and guys are not in the majority of students who sign up, although they definitely stay longer.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

They're showing Obama with 54% in South Carolina

Woah - that's huge.

[eta: And now I'm going to stop Googling election results, because every single article begins with "Obama proved that race doesn't matter! Yaaaaaaay!" and then follows up with a detailed breakdown of how much of the black/white/female vote all the candidates got. The hypocrisy, it burns...]

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

HA!!

Did you tell him about the string around the tooth and slamming the door method? That would have been good for hours of fun.

The status is NOT quo.

LOVE the Mac-tooth saga.

...and it's raining again here. Well, the sun was nice while it lasted.

He has a book where a mom monkey does that to her oft misbehaving monkey son! He read it before he had any loose teeth and was scared. But he had also heard about that method in Eth from boys with older brothers.
