One of our vows for the year is that if we can't pay cash, we're not going to buy it unless it's a dire necessity, with a pretty strict definition of "dire."
Supposedly people spend about 15% less overall when they use cash. Not using credit cards is the single best thing I've ever done for my budget (and diet).

I've gone cash-only for Christmas gifts for the past few years, and it's just wonderful. There's no stress when January bills roll around, because they're exactly the same as they always are.

I need to come up with an idea for an information service for a professional or cultural group for a group assignment at school. Anyone have any good ideas? I was thinking about something for incarcerated youth, but that doesn't really fit with professional or cultural group, does it?

After getting a very large raise last year, I was all prepared to get a minimal raise this year, which it seemed like it would - a little less than 4%. However, I just found out that something was in the works and I'm getting just under 8% ON TOP OF THAT!
