Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Dude, my cat scares the bejeesus out of herself while running after a toy mouse and knocking over a coffee mug. I am SO not worried about world domination. Dumb as a rock.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

For New Year's Day, I made pomegranate mimosas with an Italian sparkling red. They were Teh Yum, and not at all too sweet.

not your mom's socks.

I just thought "I bet Atwater's has chili cheese bread sometimes" and then called them to confirm.

leaping natter to say - lisah is awesome. Atwater's is truly good with bread... and yet? would never have come into my brain. I miss the all-natural bread shop on Eastern Ave that made the yummiest beer bread and 7-grain, and was trying to think of that name - but Lisah came up with a Real Live place.

OK - help! I made a good white bean chili. it was good until I added too much (tired reader) ground cloves and ZYUCK! now I need an antidote - a sweetener? Something - because it is _almost_ gumbo bad now, but not quite so good. and that, my friends = ass.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm not saying sparkling red is always too sweet! Just that once!

Sox, I don't know. Do you have more beans?

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

Happy Birthday, msbelle!

ND, there is so much truth in what you said about work. Thanks. I needed to hear that more that you know.

I have seen a glimmer at the end of the tunnel with my job. There are several leads on opportunities and a fairly sure thing...if I wait 2 years for it to all come together. Can I do 2 more years with the Draconian Dictator?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Interesting op-ed piece about misogyny in America from the NYT: [link]

I love Bob Herbert- so much so I nearly called him Bob Hebert, who I also love but for something completely different.

Because books.

You think Lois from Malcolm in the Middle is hardcore?

Dude. That's ... maternal dedication. Or something a little crazier.

So Dev was looking particularly puffy and I was worried she was getting sick again.

Um, it was 58 inside. I accidentally turned the heat down way low when I left this am. She's puffy because it is freaking chilly inside. No wonder my hands hurt.
