Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

"I am the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world"

Having now caught up on a couple hundred Natter posts...

Happy Birthday Susan!

Welcome e_c! Good to have another bookista here.
ETA:

Geek Squad won't be able to install and hook up for two weeks but I'm fairly excited about it.

Eh they must be really booked or really understand if they need two weeks to take care of something that maybe'd take an hour max.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I love this shelter. Among the recently adopted kittens are Pax, Shiloh, Zahara and Maddox. And Baez, Hendrix and Clapton.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Belated Natal Day Felicitations, Susan!

I can handle Granny in tiny chunks.

Um. I don't know whether to go in the direction of the dog's dinner, or possibly Sweeney Todd.

To my ear, it actually sounds more like "Er Er ERRRRRRR!"

Peter Pan!

"I gotta crow,
Er-er Er-errrr!
I just can't hide it 'cause
deep down inside it just
tickles me so, that I gotta let go
and crow! Er-er, er, er-er, er-errrrr!"

Okay, how do I clear that out of that corner of my brain?

Allyson, I'm sorry. I know how rough it can be.

My mother is no longer embarrassing me with the terminology she learned in the 1910s at her mother's knee. She now addresses everybody, including me, as "Hey, hon!" Which, while it makes me terribly sad, is also a little bit of a relief in a way.

Trust my rage

Bev - it's good to see you! Hope you and all the other buffistae had a pleasant New Year's.

I have a question for the hivemind this morning. Joe and I are about to engage in our version of The Amazing Race: Baby Edition. (By which I mean that he's not leaving PR for New Mexico until I'm in labor.) I'm assuming that he will just have to get access to the internet/airport and buy a ticket at the last minute and that we will pay a lot of money for this ticket.

I'm okay with that if it happens, but I thought someone here might have had some experience buying last minute tickets for family emergency type situations and that there may be some potentially time or money saving tips. Anyone?

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Hey, snow!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It is pretty.

I can't believe I'm at work. I stayed up way too late last night. Also, three coworkers had relatives die over the weekend. NOT ON.
