Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

It was a hoax by a smoker. Who is pro-smoking. How does the hoax help his cause?

I don't want to think too hard about what it says that I can make a good guess at what the hoaxer had in mind.

Part of it was a misguided attempt at getting empathy so that non-smokers would feel a little bit what smokers go through. Part of it was mental masturbation: the hoaxer would really like to see this happen, and when he wrote it almost believed it. (I'm assuming the hoaxer is a man.)

The status is NOT quo.

Yes, we totally uderstand the concept of making social plans based entirely on traffic.
Oh yes. Yes we do.

Allyson, fwiw, I think that the PhD is a better bet for teaching at a college level. I've been told many times that my MA is not enough, which is why I've thought about going back for the doctorate one of these days. Plus, as everyone said, you don't have to pay tuition.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Journalism is a terminal masters, so I can teach with it. If the second book gets published, it helps a lot as well in regard to teaching.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good news from Somerville -- my parents have working plumbing! It turned out to be roots in the pipes, so they could fix it without destroying the (brick) front stairs, which was a possibility earlier in the day.

He lost after school tv for Fri and today, so this morning when I tell him to watch tv while I get ready he's all, I can't, I do not get tv today. Then he told me that learning his webkins stuff (a christmas gift he got in Jan) on the computer was "too much like tv" and he couldn't do that tonight because he was still in punishment.

Now tagless for your comfort.

mac is crazy cute.

Oof. Yes, he is.

Dinner was fish sticks, mac & cheese and peas with pearl onions. Now that it's over with, I need to go to the pharmacy to fill a script, return a library book and pick up some ice cream.
