Has anyone seen the Kevin Henkes book Chrysanthemum? It's about having an odd name - pretty good for the pull-up set.
Heh. When I was a kid, my made up name was Chyrsanthemum Diamond. I thought it sounded very glamorous.
ION, the workmen are here FINALLY INSTALLING MY CABINETS. I wish that I'd thought to make coffee before they got here. Technically, I still could, but it would be inconvenient for them, and rude not to offer any.
I'm in class, after driving through really heavy rain, thanking some deity or another that it isn't SNOW.
Yeah, we were supposed (at one point) to get 1-3 inches of snow but instead got NONE. Woo hoo!
GA: I know!!!
Do they actually hate women with careers to make them so unable to have relationships?
I am so happy that (at least for now)
Derek/Meredeth are finally done.
Jessica, according to Social Security, Jessica was 32 in 2006. It was Top 10 between 1976 and 2000; 1 or 2 between 1981 and 1997.
Seriously, folks. Baby names at Social Security. Rocks. [link]
Oooh, vegan Boston Creme like cupcakes - is it Brooklyn because they're vegan?
The Baby Name Voyager is SSN data in pretty format, right? I love that thing!
Yes. SO FUN! Except it crashes my work computer, and it isn't easy to see broken down by year, but only by decade. It's here [link] and her blog is great.
woo! broke the top 100 in the SSN database. Eat it baby center!
My first name was number 483 in 2006. And falling fast.
Strange but true -- until about 1950, the obvious nickname (Fred) was more popular than the full name (Frederick).
I always enjoy flea's cataloging of baby names. I feel like you have so much potential when you chose a baby's name.
We are planning on Francisco for this baby - currently 157, I think. It's weird - here in PR it's like naming your baby Steve or John, but among our friends/family, it's fairly unusual. Still, it's growing on me. Probably will call him Frisco.
