"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Anyone had keys cut recently? I was wondering how long it took and how expensive it would be.

a couple of minutes. Usually $2-3, depending on the key.

Not that recently (a couple years ago, maybe a couple bucks at __-mart?), but provided there is actually a person capable of working the damned key machine, it hardly takes any time at all. Minutes. Most of my time has been spent trying to find the human who knows such things.

Awesome. Roommate lost her keys, and I am going to get copies of mine made after work, possibly because there's an ACE Hardware that cuts keys right near the giant DSW I like to spend money at.

Mmm, shooooes.

I had one of those. Then the keyman DIED and I was left in the wilderness of the chains...

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

I'm not sure about the McDonald's rule. In this county there are only 3 of them total, and one of those is in the Super Walmart. However, I do (sadly) live in a frustratingly rural area.

Punishingly Intricate

Most of my time has been spent trying to find the human who knows such things.

Falkenham's on 34th & Chestnut! They know how to use the machine and they are right there in the tiny shop! plus nice and the keys they cut tend to work better than the ones cut at the home depot. (I've had A LOT of keys cut for the various folks who've watched my animals over the years.)

I am so sorry, Dana.

Do they do car keys? I really need to dup my car key (my other spare is so worn as to need super special treatment) and have been putting it off due to impatience with finding a human.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

... which reminds me I should get some emergency backup keys made to be held by trusted friends living nearby.
