Frank, it sounds like your crepes were closer to my Swedish pancakes, which I've always equated to thicker crepes.
I just had a wonderful idea. My Swedish friend from work just brought back some homemade lingonberry jam. She's also coming over for dinner tomorrow night. I sense pancakes in the offing...Mwahahahahahah!
The pancakes we had on Shrove Tuesday the year I lived in England were what I'd call crepes.
They were also yummy, of course. Nothing like a warm crepe with sugar and fresh-squeezed lemon juice. Nom nom nom.

Yeah, that's what we do for Pancake Day. I actually prefer that kind to the regular fluffy ones. mmm.
Oooh, it's a shame I won't quite be in France yet--crepes twice in one week!
But I am looking forward to finally buying a real crepe pan when I'm there. They are impossible to find here.

Yeah, me too. My brother's fiancee made blinis over the holidays and we had the leftovers rolled up with peach jam. Yum.
