Adorable pictures of adorable kids. That last one is particularly cool.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'd think irridescence, under water, through glass would stymie even a professional photographer with her/his own camera.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I'm super fascinated by that phenomenon, actually -- presidents appointing justices who end up going against what the president would have gone for. I wonder if that will happen anymore.

It happened with Souter. I actually think there's a good chance the phenomenon is still live, for the same reasons inexperienced political candidates like Obama and Hillary are the front-runners: less history, less to oppose. Someone you know like Alex Kozinski or Posner will never be nominated.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Allyson, they're gorgeous! I can't get over how big Gavin's gotten. He's a full-fledged little boy.

Liese, that was largely the logic I used (except I don't vote in that state.) There are some things that give me serious, personal caution, but he's elucidated his position on those things, and while I don't agree, they are positions he's willing to still debate.

Too fucking bad he's a snowball in hell. I honestly think he'd be an excellent president, even if I didn't always agree with him. He'd help us, not hurt us.

Allyson, you SO need to get a copy of Gavin and his reflection. That's awesome.

You got neat niecphewlets.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Adorable kids!

OK, they just brought out the Democratic candidates to share the stage with the GOP on the West Coast feed.

I wish we had a halftime show instead of a commercial break. A GOP marching band playing "God Bless America" while spelling out "9/11" on the stage, and then the Dems come out and perform a medley on the theme of change.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

He was cute. He thanked me for the penguins. And my mom thanked me about a dozen times for the membership (it comes with four guest passes) saying it was the BEST GIFT EVER! over and over.

It was a really great day.

Seriously, it was 115 for a membership, and that comes with a fossilized shark tooth, four adult passes, two iMax tix, and a discount in the gift shop. It paid for itself in one visit. Highly recommended.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

He thanked me for the penguins.

Eta: those pictures are all great, but that last one is really something special

My brother swears that one of the best gifts my parents have given is NM museum membership, because they partner with so many places in Alabama he can take the boys anywhere for under a couple bucks. Which he tries to do every weekend. Discovery centers, air and space, motorcycles...

It's really a good gift you gave, Allyson. To the kids, you parents and the kids' parents.
