After spending 3 fruitless hours trying to figure out a network problem yesterday, this morning I notice that the workstation had McAfee firewall set up. Yes, this is why people can't see your shared printer. Too much of my time is spent figuring out stuff that has nothing to do with my software.
One of the people calling us this week insisted that their LAN cable was making "a whining noise."
I could understand the computer whining at some of my users. Honestly, I have very bright users, mostly doctors and nurses. They are willing and able to follow instructions. They just don't naturally understand how their actions may hose their systems. Yes, the web radio station, weather bug, google notify, yahoo messanger, and animated desktop background just might be slowing down your application. Maybe.
Mom says: ...well, be sure and wear your "loony repelling" undies!
Your mom should market these. We all need them.
What are people doing this weekend? We have a birthday party for TCG's step-grandmother tomorrow, he has a meeting on Monday he has to prepare for, we're hoping to catch a movie, and we have to pack for our trip to Dallas.
Hola, bitches! I slept and slept last night--I went to bed around 11:30, and woke up at 9AM thinking surely it was like, noon. And it wasn't! So I slept some more!! But now I really want a nice hearty breakfast of eggs and toast and coffee, and I have none. So that would require leaving the house, and I am not down for that. Curses!!
Last night there was much flirting, and touching, and invitations to things tonight. Hmmm. We shall see how tonight goes. If nothing else, there was quite probably the sexiest dance I have ever danced. That was hot. I am loving West Coast Swing. Mmmmm. (Sadly, the only YouTube clips I can find are TOO fancy--this one isn't bad after the first 30 seconds or so, but it's still not as hot when they're being all perfect feet and stuff. It's all about the push and pull and eyecontact... I've seen sexier stuff on the dance floor every Friday. But there are a few fun moves in there.
After the first decent sleep last night in over a week (Liv slept through without coughing and waking up, Owen slept until morning and I actually spent more than 40% of my night in my own bed), Owen spiked a fever this morning. He's been lethargicly lounging on the couch watching cartoons all morning until he sat up crying and told me he had the "hiccups." Then he proceeded to projectile vomit all over him, me and the sofa.
I think the flu has landed.
{{{Cashmere}}} I hope the rest of you don't catch it.
Tom and I just got back from our local animal shelter where we hung out and played with cats for over an hour. We fell in love with FOUR- this guy, these two (they need to be adopted as a pair) and another guy named Pooh who is sweet and pretty young, only about a year old.
We're trying to decide and it is SO HARD!
Poor Owen! (and poor you)
At dentist, awaiting root canal. Talked to bro and SiL about news I posted in LJ. They were both uplifting and depressing. I hate that.
Ooh, tough. A pair is always nice for cats, though.
