but my friends love Dukem Ethiopian Market on U Street
Ah! I knew I was forgetting at least one U Street Ethiopian place...

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

On top of the rest of this stellar morning, I seem to have tweaked my back and am now in excruciating pain.
Can I have a do-over, please?
Apparently interview went well enough--they sounded kinda skeptical on the phone, but have said they'll interview me in person (along with other cantidates) probably in a week or so (here in Seattle). So, yay!
t ETA: CRAP. I just remembered that my interview suit was bought when I weighed 20 pounds less than I do now. Can I lose 20 pounds in a week? Um, no.
OK, travel poll time:
How many people leave a cash tip in their hotel room for the housekeepers?Yes.
How many people wear some form of stilletto or heels over 2.5 inches when flying? Or boots?Hell no. I don't wear heels ever. I usually wear flats (DUH!).
How many people buy a box of candy to take back to their office mates?Sometimes, but usually only when I'm going someplace special.
How many people get cravings for a food or drink only when they travel? (Like, ordering tomato juice or bloody mary mix on the plane, when you normally don't drink it)I am a tomato juice drinker on planes, too. I had no idea that was a "thing."
Jo update: She is very weak, but she has eaten twice and had some water. She seems really tired (prob hard to sleep at the vet and she was there for 3 nights). Poor Malkins!
I can't stand Ethiopian (texture issues), but my friends love Dukem Ethiopian Market on U Street. Oh, and take her to Bistrot du Coin (where we went with Suzi). Great atmosphere, and you can eat cheaply.
Neat! I'm on it.
Christ, the co-worker who died was younger than my fucking parents. 45! And I don't even know what it was. It sounds like he was sick, but I had no idea.
Do you then leave a note, or how do they know it is money for them and not money you left out?
See, this is something I've come across enough (leaving money out, finding it there when I return in the evening) that I've just defaulted to leaving it at the end.
Raq, how terrifying! I mean, I’m glad you know how to drive manual now, but no one should have to learn under those circumstances!
Oh, Kristin! How frustrating. I hope you have a new card soon!
Answers to Raq’s questions:
1) It depends (terrible answer, I know)
2) Hell no. Easy on and easy off. Usually my Danksos unless I’m traveling to the tropics…then it’s flipflops. And I know you didn’t ask about this, but I also have a pair of nice knit khaki pants that I pretty much only wear when I fly. They are so comfy and have pockets and actually look pretty nice. I’m all about the comfort when I fly.
3) Um, no. You’re supposed to do that?
4) Yes. Gingerale.
Kristin! Take care of yourself, girl.
Work was interesting tonight. But instead of bitching, I will share the very special picture one of my kids made for me: [link]
1) Like so many of us, I try to remember and feel terrible when I forget.
2) Doc Martens.
3) I rarely bring my office mates anything
4) I almost always have bloody marys on the plane but I will sometimes order them other places, like a sports bar on Sunday.

Younger than me too.
