I like the way the walls go out. Gives you an open feeling. Firefly is a good design. People don't appreciate the substance of things. Objects in space. People miss out on what's solid.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I've taught several people to drive manual. What works best is, "I'll drive for a while, and you sit in the passenger seat. Watch my right hand and my feet."

Yeah, I'm not sure that would work for me either. I've never had to teach anyone how to drive stick, and I think that's a good thing. It came so easy to me that I think I'd get frustrated. Though, I often thought I'd be that way with working with people on their writing as well, and actually I'm pretty patient. So, maybe not.

Oh, Plei, what a lovely house! I'm so happy for you. much ~ma for getting the current house sold.

I know how to drive a manual, a friend of mine taught me when I was in high school... but it never really took (kept stalling when starting out in first) until I had to drive myself to Vermont for a college interview and I had no option but to Get It Done. Came back a seasoned stick shift driver after that. Every car I myself owned was a standard. After I sold the Gallant, I shared Tom's automatic Ford Escort. When we were car shopping last year, I was sorta hoping we could get a manual, but Tom wasn't too keen on the idea and he's the one that drives, usually.

Driving a stick shift in the UK is a trip. I am generally pretty relieved when we luck out and get an automatic, like we did this last time we were there.

(EtA the proper kind of car)

I have jury duty tomorrow. Quite frankly, I've always wanted to serve on a jury, but this is a REALLY bad time. I'm SO hoping that when I call to check in this afternoon that my group isn't needed. Unlikely, but a girl can hope.

In the meantime, I have to fill out a juror questionnaire. I have no idea how to answer some of the questions (on my experiences), and the thing has to be filled out in black ink. I do not own a black pen. Hopefully work has one!

Yay Aimee!

Abby, whereabouts are you located?

I like MM's answer to that question--especially how he really tied it in to his customer service experience, at the end there. :)

Love the house, Plei! Congratulations!

I have always (and still do) drive a stick. Love it.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

I like MM's answer to that question--especially how he really tied it in to his customer service experience, at the end there. :)

Oh, it's ALL about tying it to the job.

And that answer sounds better than the actual answer which goes:

"Well, this one time I got a customer a check.

...

It would be more impressive if you understood what a cocksucker this guy was. "

I'm in Vancouver, Meara. Close enough to have been enjoying the same sunshine as you yesterday.

Yay for Josie being home!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

That's a wonderful house, Plei! DH and I are insanely jealous, but glad to have y'all on this side of the Ship Canal. When do you move?

Next month, assuming all goes well with closing and such.

I'm jealous of Abby's location, but that's mainly because the bus this morning had ads for Vancouver, and I haven't been up in way too long. (I mean, I went to Vernon last year, but that's NOT Vancouver.)

Also, I totally forgot to tell my mother to bring me back Shreddies from their trip this week.

Sigh. I fail at Canada!
