There was a Girl Scout outside the grocery store this evening. I didn't have a lot of cash on me, so I bought one box of my favorite, Samoas, which sent my husband into a plaintive, mournful cry of "Thin Mints" when I came home. (He's not a big fan of anything with coconut.)
Incidentally, Plei, I saw your husband on campus today, but just waved and said hi because I was rushing to make a bus connection.

Initially I read this as samosas, and was baffled. (Well, no - approving, because, yay samosas! But also bemused, because girl guides don't normally make me think of samosas.)
Upon rereading, I have concluded that samoas must be coconut biscuits, though.
...really, I cannot adequately express my disappointment in the UK Guiding Organisation for their failure to do this whole biscuit-selling thing.

Fay, we were talking about this at work. One of the electricians is from UK. She was like "I was all for it, until I learned that the girls don't actually bake the cookies. Fuck that!". I guess it was funnier the way she said it. But it was an interesting discussion of Girl Guides vs Girl Scouts.

I haven't seen any girl scouts this year. I'll have to ask Mom if any of the girls at her school are selling them when she gets back from Florida. I love both thin mints and somoas, can't choose between them.
