Here's an interesting thing for Nilly and our other Buffista jews. apparently, a modern version of Hava Nagila is in the running for best selling song of the Christmas season. You can see the video here: [link]
"British singer Lauren Rose has released a modern version of traditional Jewish song Hava Nagila, and gambling pundits have even given odds on the song to take the top spot in the U.K. Christmas pop charts.
"According the British newspaper The Sun, bookmaker William Hill has given 17-year-old Lauren Rose a 16-1 shot at having Britain’s best-selling song on December 25."
Timelies, my Lovelies.
Soooo...Boss just spent several minutes in here telling me about more places we're going to have to start babysitting people & more things that she "asked P to handle, but he didn't, so could I take care of it..." Okay, I'm
over
the fact that having a slacker co-worker makes me look majorly productive by comparison. Now I just keep saying, "the amount of crap that I have covered for the last few months BETTER be reflected in my annual increase."
Trudy, sorry your sitch is so sucky. Definitely start looking. You don't need excess stress and BS making you even sicker. Better situation SOON-ma.
DJ, much ~ma to Kevin's Mom.
Hmm. Would MM be as entertaining to the rest of us if he wasn't given such awesome raw material to work with? It's hard to know whether to be sympathetic or thankful...
What ended up happening with that Hava Nagila song, anyway? I remember seeing all the lead-up of "Will it be number 1?" but never saw anything after Christmas saying what actually happened.
I think Hil linked that a while back. Lauren is rather adorable, IMO.
Joe! How could you not remember Joe?
I had stuff to say, but my brain is foggy and I forgets.
Yay! Just got a call from the local eyeglass place, my contact lenses are in. Less than 24 hours after we ordered them. Why can little tiny local business get lenses from wherever they originate to two blocks away from my house in less than a day, and huge national company can't do it in three weeks?
Joe! How could you not remember Joe?
Probably blocked it to save myself from rage-induced mental trauma.
Well, foo. I was just gonna link up a picture of me before my office Xmas party (couldn't find a dress I liked, so I bought myself a sari), but the work computer, which has no problem letting me visit flickr, apparently takes issue with the idea of me uploading to it. Guess the sari will have to wait.
So, in the meantime, enjoy
a totally old pic of me and Danny Strong.
He is so shrunken Scola.
Totally! And both with the awesome smile.
Joe - I need you to call me at work ASAP, please.
Nothing bad, just important.
