Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

nsm with the putting together of hours? Or does the critter Frisco have his days and nights reversed?
He's actually getting better. For the past two nights, he has slept (with one wake up for nursing/diaper changing) from 8 pm to 4am which is fine with me. Ellie goes to bed around 8 and I'll take any 8 hour block, thank you very much.
The hard part is that Ellie often wakes up around 4:30-5:00. She will go back to sleep (she really needs the sleep) if she can snuggle with me or have her back patted, but it's hard to do that when Frisco cries if I'm not nursing/walking/bouncing him. Also, Joe's in GA this week so it's just me.
This morning, Ellie got up at 4:30 and did not go back to sleep. Poor Bean - it's going to be a rough day at school for her.
But the really stinking rotten thing, of course is - so bloody what if he were Muslim? Sure, I'd prefer that the next person to be elected Most Powerful Person On The Planet didn't have an allegiance to any religion (let's just look at all the atrocious acts that Bush has candy coated and justified with the language of faith), but if s/he were, Islam's no worse a choice than Christianity.
Fay, this is exactly my thinking too, although I assume it's because I'm married to a godless heathen european socialist secularist and therefore not a True Amurrican.
I am just generally flabbergasted about why this is even an issue. But I guess religion holds a sway over politics that I can't comprehend.
My office this morning: 70 degrees.
Office next door: 62 degrees.
Area outside these two offices: 64 degrees.
Clearly, I win!

And God bless him for that.
And God bless him for that.
Shh, don't tell him!
I just heard a story this morning on NPR about different groups of people in Texas and who they're supporting. One woman said that as a woman, she appreciated how far Clinton had come, but as a woman, she really respects men's ability to lead.
Which isn't exactly apropos, but I think it may be possible for us to underestimate how many people only give lip service to separation of church and state. If even lip service. There are people who really do associate being Christian with being a good person.
I hope I made actual sentences there. I'm back to work but my brain is very much not back together. I had to sit down for five minutes after I got out of the shower this morning because I thought I was going to throw up.
MM: backflung.
Dear Neighbor. Really? at 9 am? Really?? Is it because they're doing tree-work and extraneous noise bothers you, so you need to tune it out? Are you off of school today, or did you just leave your stereo blasting and the sub-woofer duct-taped to my window?
signed, super-cranka-frantic-istic-expi-ali-docious, with no coffee in the house --
And do not resort to stupid fucking lolspeak
I can not haz Fay? :(
Sox, insent.
Timelies! I'm about to go to Wawa for a coffee/steamer type beverage and donuts. Mmm. Also, am slacking off on my workouts this week. Oops! Mostly don't care. I'll get my nose to the grind again tomorrow.
They moved my first triathlon back a week due to conflicts with the city. Now my friend who got me into this in the first place can race with me after all!

Well, yes. But in the current reality of this country, that's not really the point.
There are the people who understand and believe that. And there are the people for whom the mere name issues [Osama/bama, Hussein] are enough to put the man entirely beyond the pale. But there are also the large mass of people who are out there going "Muslim, huh? I hear an awful lot of bad about those people. Don't they hate America and stuff? Can we really take a chance on this guy?"
And it's those idiots who the whole mess is directed at. And those idiots who (potentially) have the power to fuck us all over again. So the challenge is to defuse the issue without buying into the inherent Muslim=bad line that the right has spent the last decade spewing.
