There is a screaming child in the hallway outside the honors lounge. This does not bode well for me completely my project that I needed to have done, oh, several hours ago.
Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
juliana (and any other Minnesotans): hog pile or dog pile? Also, is it duck, duck, goose?
I've heard dog pile. Also, though "duck, duck, goose" is the One True Way, Minnesotans insist on perverting it to "duck, duck, grey duck". I know not why. Buncha snow-bound freaks.

In my Minnesota home town it was dog pile and duck, duck, grey duck. I think that the latter is a well-known Minnesota oddity.
Edit: Snow bount freaks! How soon they forget when they move to California. Still, Grey Duck x-post!

Yes! I never understood this.

Fortunately, the loonacy stops at the Minnesota-Wisconsin state border.
Damn, ND and KristenT. I'm voteing for the "make the bastards walk the plank" plan.
GF grew up in MN and says hog pile and duck, duck, grey duck. Interesting. Also, anyone know when duck, duck, goose/grey duck came into being? At a meeting I was just in, those born pre-60 (with no children) had never heard of it!
In Southeastern Michigan it was "duck, duck, goose."
In Northern Michigan, where hunting is more prevalent, I am given to understand it is "duck, duck, dinner."
And then they pluck and eat some poor kid who can't run fast.
Born in 1957 and it was a huge favorite in kindergarten.
My fave new version (thanks, wikipedia!) is Duck, Duck, Splash - in which the "goose" gets a bucket of water dumped on him/her. Awesome!
