Dear Eng 101/102 Professors,

I’ve been sick for several weeks, and in the last week I’ve been diagnosed with pneumonia and RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus). I’ve been taking it easy since Wednesday and am feeling a little better, but need to ease back into my schedule a bit, which means I need to focus on the essentials. I feel it is in my best interest to not meet with you or visit your classes this week. Instead, I will be leaving packets of my flyers in your boxes tomorrow morning so you can get them out to your students. My energy is best used with getting to classes, homework, and tutoring.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Yes, and some indication that you will provide them with doctor note etc. Also, I would say something about how you know how inconvenient this is for them (always good to make the teacher feel better in these situations) and how you are determined not to let it stop you from successfully completing your classes.
