Pretty thread! Just popping in to say I'm still here, happy birthdays and many vibes for people.
My computer is dead, again. We installed new RAM, yay, so fast! And then we had someone else install a new graphics card because mine wasn't rendering things as well as I might like. Then no monitor display. We opened it up and the new card wasn't seated properly. Reseated it; now we get the BIOS beeps of doom. So, either my motherboard is cracked, or the RAM is broken, or there's a compatibility issue with the new graphics card. We're hoping it's the latter because that's actually fixable, though the RAM would be fixable too with a bit more expense. It just can't be the motherboard or I will go sit in the corner and rock.
Brings some fluffy pillows for Deana, and keeps her company in the corner.
Deena, put the old card back in.
Brings hot tea and rubs Deena's shoulders.
I'd share my MacBook with you if we weren't so damn far away.
Daniel, I had microcenter do it. Either they left the old card in, or they kept it. We're going to make them fix it. (Edit: I appreciate the suggestion though. It's a good one. I'd do it if I knew what I was doing without blowing something up.)
Thanks for the pillows! And tea! and hugs! You guys are so cool you've forced me to abuse the exclamation point.
TCG's car was in the shop Wednesday and back in today. I dropped him off a little while ago to pick it up. He just called, and it needs more work so he won't have it back until Monday. So car ~ma for him and logistics~ma for me as I figure out how to get everything done for guests on Monday with one car.
I hearby announce that girls have a distinct ability to PISS ME OFF.
(For the second time in less six months, a girl with distinct potential got back together with an ex-boyfriend in the midst of our... courtship is probably the wrong word, right? But whatever. Early stages, totally kosher, but still annoying.)
ETA:
In other news, when you were a computer science major and general math geek, and now teach math, and have spent your whole life in academic pursuits, making a resumé for a professional musical theater training program is hard.
computer~ma for Deena and car~ma for TCG.
Sorry Gris, girls can be annoying. Boys too.
Math and music use similar logic. Um, unhelpful.
