You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The status is NOT quo.

Dear Parent,
It is not my fault that your daughter did not sign up to take the honors placement test before the test date. Just because she was on a field trip on the test day does not mean that she is magically exempted from the rest of the requirements. Please stop sending snippy emails to my superiors. This will not help your case. It will make me want to smack you.
No love,
Kristin

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

It's ok to wear black pants, a black-and-red-floral turtle-neck, and a black oxford shirt to an internal job interview, for a job that the person who is leaving usually wears casual pants and a nice shirt or sweater but sometimes jeans and a t-shirt to work in, isn't it?

When I applied for the current job, I showed up in an embroidered denim outfit. I work in jeans and a t-shirt every day. I figure this is a step up. And I don't really have a heck of a lot of choice. None of my nice, office-interview clothes fit any more.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's sounds like a formal enough outfit to me, WindSparrow.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

For an internal interview, I'd say a notch up from the everyday, but not as dressy as an interview amongst strangers. IOW, you're fine.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

For an internal interview, I'd say a notch up from the everyday, but not as dressy as an interview amongst strangers.

Sounds good.

Also, no grenades.

What -t said, Andi. I think that sounds fine.

In meme news, why can't I let go of this confrontation fear? I've had multiple parent phone calls/meetings these past two weeks, and they always go fine. And yet? I am an utter mess every time. This time I had to send off the "no, your daughter can't make up the placement test she never signed up for in the first place" email, and I'm convinced that screaming and yelling is in my future. CUT IT, BRAIN.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

One of my friends invited me to her son's birth. It's going to be at a birth center with midwives, and she says she wants a lot of people there, and we should bring food and wine and make it a party. Never been to a birth before, or seen a baby younger than about two days.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I was at my cousin's, Hil. Even in a crowded hospital room, with a nurse and father vying for asshat of the year, it was totally awesome. What you describe sounds like a fun and wonderful experience.
